We made our way to New London, CT where we had a marina reservation. This allowed Jim to complete some important boat projects while Anne was in Minneapolis.

We took one more day trip to NYC from Port Washington, before sailing Long Island Sound and eventually reaching Newport. Memorable moments included spotting dolphins, indulging in pastries from Aldo’s, and enjoying a historical tour of Newport, capped with delectable Connecticut lobster rolls.

After the anchorage at the Statue of Liberty, we got to travel up the East River to Long Island Sound. We’ve been spending the past few nights in Port Washington, an easy train trip into NYC…

Anne returned to Tilia, and we had some good times with friends we’ve made while sailing. Then we headed to north to the very top of the Chesapeake to leave via the C&D canal…
