After nearly two months exploring Nova Scotia, it was time to return to the US. We made a 60 hour trip from Halifax to the US, and got a chance to see some sailing buddies…

Our niece Lucy and her fiancé, Tyler, joined us for some sailing in Canada. Hurricane Erin forced us to alter our plans a bit, but we still had fun together…

We’ve spent two weeks exploring a 30 nm stretch of Nova Scotia, enjoying the beautiful scenery, towns and anchorages in this area…

Rose and her boyfriend, Emmett, joined us for a visit while we explored Lunenburg and Chester…

We took a few days to enjoy the sights and flavors of Nova Scotia on our way back to Halifax…

We concluded our visit to the Bras d’Or Lakes with an attempted visit to a highland village and a couple very nice anchorages…

We left St. Peters and made our way deeper into the Bras d’Or lakes. We visited a First Nation site and continued on to Baddeck, our farthest point north for this season…

After an uneventful overnight along the coast of Nova Scotia, we arrived at the Bras d’Or lakes of Cape Breton, which we will explore for the next week.

We traveled three days from Yarmouth to reach Halifax. We had a classic Nova Scotian sailing experience with plenty of fog, beautiful anchorages, and arrival at the oldest yacht club in North America…

Our passage to Nova Scotia went very smoothly and we arrived in Yarmouth in good time and good spirits…
